My magic mom powers

Long holiday weekends provide my boys with additional time at home (rather than at school or sporting events) so perhaps this is what spiked their amazement with me.  It all started so simply...

My son came into my home office to tell me his gym uniform was on the washing machine. "No, it is on your bed," I replied.  "No, it is on the washing machine," he insisted.  I told him to go look in his room..."how did you do that??" he asked in amazement. "My magic mom powers," I replied simply.

My younger son commented that he wondered how his friends did at their hockey tryouts. "I can show you," I replied.  "What? How can you do that?" he asked in amazement.  "We can look at the roster online," I replied.  "Mom, how did you know to do that?" he asked, again amazed.  "My magic mom powers," I replied simply.

"I can't believe I scored that touchdown," my football warrior said to me.  "Want to see it in action?" I asked.  "Wow! You got all this?" he asked, again in amazement.  "What? Did you think I wouldn't capture THAT moment??" I simply replied.  "That's amazing, mom." Pure and simple response from my football warrior.  "No, you are amazing, and my magic mom powers just captured it!" I explained.

And if these weren't enough...magic mom powers sometimes transform into magic wife powers...take the amazing black beans I made for dinner this weekend.  "So, did you just cut up all these vegetables?" my husband asked.  "Yes," was all I replied...I take the Busch's Baked Beans, Grillin' Beans commercial seriously.  I want him to think I'm an amazing cook...
