The FB Addiction

So I did it. I officially became a "face" on facebook. Well, I didn't really become a "face" until recently. For my first month and a half, I was words, a picture of a hockeymom van (not a soccermom van), various hockeymom logos, a hammock on a beach, and recently a bad mickey mouse comic. Today I broke the seal and officially became "me"...well, me and my family, as I became brave and put my photo up on the "profile" screen.

So, what is it about this facebook thing that is so addicting? I don't get much time during the week to really look at posts, but when I do, I find myself laughing at what many people have written, photos they've posted, and these quizzes they've taken. AND before I know it, hours have gone by. It is truly an addiction.

And then people are throwing things. I've been hit with snowballs, hockeymoms, vikings, and most recently, a thong. Currently I have 92 requests for things that I am supposed to respond to...when??? Each time I click on just one of these requests it takes me to two to three different screens, where I need to invite 15 friends to join me in throwing or gifting or growing something. I even had a farm for awhile, but I'm not sure where it went.

And I have flair, oh do I have flair. Flair are buttons...but with different sayings. And I've made my own...for me, for friends, and just to make for the fun of it that I won't put anywhere...it's becoming a sickness...

So just a little while ago I decided to complete the "Find Friends Using Your Email" tool...I couldn't believe how many people I know, who I have email addresses for, are on facebook! So many other moms just like me are doing this too! I'm not alone! Is this the new soap opera experience? Instead of watching soaps all day, are moms sitting in front of their computer watching facebook? On a Friday, when I don't have to work, I know I was...addictions...how do you kick this one?
