Well...I have to follow up on my CFL point...one of the additional places I put those energy-efficient light bulbs was outside my garage--for my garage lights. They were the correct wattage (before anyone with knowledge starts to defend this), and one has already burned out in only six months...ten times longer??? We only put the outside garage lights on in the evening, and not every evening...in fact, we were gone for a week and a half over the holidays in December/January and they were OFF all that time...in addition to the vacation we took in August for over a week (OFF THEN)...SO hours don't come anywhere near the 230,000 hours that the box promised me. AND, after all, who likes to change the outdoor garage lights???? Let's face it, that is not an easy task...ladder has to come out, tools need to be used on the light itself, etc, etc.
Now that just gave my husband ammunition to remove them all...and I was trying to be so good about all this!
